Totally unplugged songs. For centuries people all over the world used to sing during work. In the fields or rowing a boat, pounding corn or spinning yarn. And of course while working they didn't have a hand free to hold an instrument. Martin Auer sings chaingang songs from the South of the US, weaver's laments from England and Scotland, songs from Croatian factory girls, songs by union organizers from Kentucky, yiddish strike songs from Russia and the USA and many more. But even during work people would sing about love, and so the program also includes love songs for instance from Morocco, Turkey or Spain.

Martin Auer singt unplugged total: Ohne Instrumentalbegleitung. So wie man früher bei der Arbeit gesungen hat. Chaingang songs aus den Südstaaten, Laments aus England und Schottland, Lieder kroatischer Fabrikarbeiterinnen aus dem Burgenland, Gewerkschaftsballaden aus Kentucky, jiddische Streiklieder, Soldaten- und Deserteurslieder aus der Slowakei und Russland und Österreich, Wiegenlieder (auch Kinderhüten ist Arbeit), Hurenlieder (auch Sexarbeit ist Arbeit). Eigene Balladen und Legenden sind auch dabei.
